The mission of the PA Counterdrug Joint Task Force (CJTF) directly supports the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's mission to improve the safety and welfare of citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. CJTF leverages unique National Guard capabilities to support community efforts against illicit drugs and emerging threats.
Our Mission Emphasis
Operational Support to Law Enforcement
Assist local, state, and federal agencies in the disruption of illicit drug financing, production, transportation and distribution throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Pa. Guardsmen provide a variety of support ranging from criminal analysis, ground and aerial observation support to law enforcement drug investigations to engineer support to local governments by boarding-up dilapidated housing structures to prevent them from being used as havens for illegal drug use and distribution, thus making communities safer and encouraging neighborhood revitalization.
Civil Operations Community Outreach
Promote drug-free living through community-based prevention and education throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The CJTF maintains successful partnerships with key organizations, strengthening their emphasis on the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse. Agencies include the Pa. Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (BDAP), EPISCenter, and Pennsylvania Single County Authorities. Through these partnerships, Pa. Army and Air National Guardsmen work in and around their communities to mentor youth and deliver anti-drug messages to youths and adults.
